| The mission of the Pocatello Rental Housing Association is to preserve and protect the interests and viability of private rental property ownership in the Pocatello and surrounding areas.
Goals
- Public Policy - To promote sound public policy and public policy makers in matters regarding rental housing.
- Public Vs. Private Housing - To assure that public housing and private sector housing each succeed in serving their appropriate market niche. To assure that over lap and competition between the two be eliminated through cooperative studies and agreements.
- Board Representation - To assure membership representation on any board or organization dealing with matters critical to the interests of the Association.
- Comprehensive Data Base - To create a comprehensive data base of rental market information through cooperation with all available public and private resources.
- Education - To educate our membership regarding all regulatory matters, such as Americans With Disabilities Act, Fair Housing Act, and lead base paint disclosures.
- Legal Matters - To provide our membership with information regarding the legal matters of eviction, collections, and tenant/landlord responsibilities.
- Information Clearing House - To provide a clearing house of information regarding maintenance, improvement and the marketing of rental units.
- Screening Tenants - To facilitate the screening and qualifying of prospective tenants.
- Affinity Buying Group - To create an affinity buying group in order to negotiate agreements for the purchasing of products and services.
Each goal will eventually be accompanied by a list of strategies developed by the appropriate membership committees.
